About Ontario ARC
Ontario ARC was founded in 1954 when opportunities for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities were extremely limited. A pioneering group of parents from Geneva, NY recognized this issue and through their perseverance and persistence, our agency was founded. Today, we've successfully grown to offer over 40 wide-ranging and innovative services for hundreds of people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families.

Ontario ARC is led by a group of compassionate and experienced professionals who are fully dedicated to our values of integrity, respect, teamwork, quality, commitment, and innovation. We are proud to have built a friendly, diverse workplace that nurtures uniqueness, celebrates individual strengths, and offers our staff countless opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.

We welcome enthusiasm and creativity. And, we encourage our staff to take advantage of professional development, educational training, and team-building opportunities. Our dedicated staff is essential to what we do and the respect and care we show them is passed on to those we serve. In addition to a supportive and rewarding work environment, we offer competitive wages and a generous benefits package.

A Day in the Life as a Habilitation Coordinator
As a habilitation coordinator, you start each day ready to make a positive difference in the lives of those you serve. Our habilitation program is a customizable and family-directed curriculum designed to help teens and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities enhance their skills and maintain an independent lifestyle by offering guidance and instruction in life skills such as meal preparation, shopping, personal finance, and healthcare.

You are responsible for and directly involved in the development, implementation, periodic review, and revision of the habilitation plans for each of your assigned participants. You maintain a climate that promotes their well-being and protects their right to be treated with dignity and respect. You adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements including Part 365, as well as following our program's policies and procedures.

You are the agency liaison between the supported individuals and their services. Some of your time is spent meeting with them at their various program sites and some of your time is spent in the office managing the paperwork involved with program planning.
Your ability to develop individualized program plans according to the unique needs of each individual and keep in compliance with all policies and regulations makes this program possible. You enjoy the variety of people and locations you get to interact with each day. And you go home each evening feeling great about the work you do and the difference it makes in the lives of so many in our community.
